Bestival 2005

tickets to Bestival 2005 here.
WHAT?
Whilst
only in its second year, Bestival is fast becoming the small festival
of good vibes to rival the likes of The Big
Chill. Taking place on the beautiful Isle of Wight over 88
acres of parkland, the festival combines relaxing surroundings with
high quality facilities, and a superb selection of music over five
arenas. Organised by Sunday Best, the
club night and record label run by Radio 1 DJ, Rob
da Bank, the line-up is curated by Mr da Bank himself and
oozes quality all the way through. In addition to the music there's
plenty of weird and wonderful entertainment, including a 24-hour
sauna and fancy dress fitters, plus there's plans to screen the
action from last Test match of the cricket.
WHERE?
Robin Hill Country Park, Newport, Isle of Wight
WHEN?
Fri 09 - Sun 11 Sep 2005
WHO?
Rock,
pop, dance and dub - you name it, Bestival has it. Current leaders
of the pretty song pile, The Magic Numbers
are one of the headliners, along with Royksopp
and Super Furry Animals. Other must
see acts include The Go! Team, crazed
dub genius Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Saint Etienne,
The Rakes, Mylo and Clor. On
the DJ front there's Gilles Peterson, Justin
Robertson, Rob da Bank, Erol Alkan and the very exciting
prospect of The Nextmen with ace MC
Yungun. In addition local boys, The
Bees are hosting a 24-hour dub arena, while Bobby
Friction and Nihal take over
The Bollywood Bar on Sunday for some of their excellent stoned-Asia
grooves.
